Hey just thought id post here what i use alot of the time when playing as a monk (my main character). Played monk a very long time and gathered almost every skill, add to that all the times ive been waiting in game or bored and out come my builds. I test my builds by observing what skills I use most and which I use least, and the effectiveness of them in pressure situations. I never suffer from energy shortage either.

I started out as a hybrid of heal and prot however this started giving problems when 2 monks were needed in a team, so from there i went full healer.

My most used healing build:
Word of Healing-elite (healing prayers).
Healing breeze (healing prayers).
Dwayna's Kiss (healing prayers).
Vigorous Spirit (healing prayers).
Seed of Life (Sunspear title)- Alternative is healing seed.
Divine spirit (divine favor).
(optional) - Mostly Divine intervention or cure hex.
Rez (mostly either rebirth or renew life).

In hard mode prot seemed a better option to keep the red bars on my party full.

My most used protection build:
Shield of Deflection-elite (protection prayers).
Reversal of fortune (protection prayers).
Protective Spirit (protection prayers).
Dismiss condition (protection prayers).
Aegis (protection prayers).
Divine spirit (divine favor).
Optional- for me mainly ebon assassin or great dwarf weapon, otherwise shield of absorbtion or divine intervention.
Rebirth

Ive taken a liking to smiting recently too, heres what I consider a safe bet to take:
arcane echo (mesmer)
reversal of damage (smite)
Castigation signet (smite)
Seed of life (sunspear)
Smite hex (smite)
Shield of judgement (smite)
smiters boon (divine favor)
divine spirit (divine favor)
(maybe rez instead of seed)

Comments are welcome , notice im low on hex removal in the prot/heal area because i equip my MM with convert hexes mostly, nor are hexes worth removing in most cases. I also equip him with extinguish for party wide condition removal.
