So what about them heroes? xD
In several PvP occasions, you can take heroes with you to fight. In some cases, this is even beneficial (Zaishen Elite) or obligatory (Hero Battles).

1) Movement
Moving your heroes around the battlefield is simple. You simply click the flag of the hero you want to move (under your minimap) and click where you want them to go. You can do this for each individual hero or for all heroes together.

Notice that whilst being commanded to move, heroes cannot do anything besides move to their next location. They will only undertake actions (such as fighting or healing) once arrived at their destination.

You can also call your mission map(Press U), and put the flag on there. On larger maps, this may be beneficial.

Also notice that if there are points like shrines marked on the edge of your minimap (but are in reality further away), it is possible to send the heroes beyond the minimap without summoning the mission map. Simply flag the hero on the shrine on the minimap.

2) Skill Usage
To summon a hero's skill panel to your screen, click the number next to his name in the party panel.

Heroes don't always use their skills the way you want them to. The best known problem is that they might all ressurect a dead ally in the midst of combat, thus stopping all actions.

The best way to prevent this is to disable the skills on the hero's bar (shift+click on the skill). The hero will now not use the skill untill you tell him to (click the skill on his bar) or untill you reenable the skill (shift+click it a second time) and his AI tells him to use it.

Sometimes heroes have skills that can be used in many ways or on many targets. If you want a hero to use a skill on a specific target (say character A), just target character A yourself and click the skill you want the hero to use. As soon as all requirements for using this skill are met, he will use it on character A.

Notice that he WILL stop doing everything untill the requirements are met in the above case. This means if the skill you want him to cast costs 25 energy, and the hero has less than 25 energy, he will remain passive untill obtaining 25 energy.

There is another way of forcing a hero to use a skill. Besides clicking it, you can adress a certain button on your keyboard to a certain skill of a certain hero.

Go to the options panel (f11) and click the "control" button. Here you can assign certain keys to certain actions. The actions "order hero 1...3 to use skill 1...8" are the ones you ppb missed during PvE play Wink.

I myself use numpad keys for it, as they're not used for much either.

Now you might ask WHY THE HELL would you wanna go through all that trouble? :s

Simple: it allows you to make different heroes use skills that have a good synergy when cast at the same time the right way (at the same time).

This is VERY beneficial in spike builds. Imagine hero battles (you + 3 heroes). With this technique, you can disable a certain spiking skill from your 3 heroes (eg. 3 ele heroes who all have energy blast). Now you as player can cast a skill like Augury of Death, let the heroes use Energy Blast in a split second (before ANYBODY can use any hex removal), and finish the ennemy off (with a skill like final thrust).

The above is the basic idea behind a succesful home made HB team build that Snow invented (from scratch. I personally was very impressed). If you want it, don't be afraid to ask us for it Smile

do you spend hours looking at all the setting or discover these things by accident? seriously good stuff though, good job.

Snow discovered the stuff in settings though, not me.
